What Is LUPRON DEPOT?

LUPRON DEPOT is in the class of hormonal therapyHormonal therapy
Treatment with drugs that interfere with hormone production or hormone action, or the surgical removal of hormone-producing glands.3
drugs called gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists GnRH agonists
These are synthetically made hormones, chemically similar to natural gonadotropin-releasing hormones (GnRH). With continuous use in men, they block the production of the male hormone testosterone by the testicles and are frequently used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer.1,4

(also called GnRH agonists or GnRHa).1

Although LUPRON DEPOT is not a cure for advanced prostate cancer, you and your doctor may choose LUPRON DEPOT as part of your treatment plan to suppress testosterone that may cause testosterone-dependent prostate cancer cells to grow.1

DO NOT TAKE IF you have had any type of allergic reaction to LUPRON DEPOT or similar drugs.1
